    When nine-year-old Lauren was first introduced to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer, she was only three days old. Following an otherwise uneventful pregnancy and delivery, Lauren’s parents were stunned when a standard test at discharge from Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies showed low levels of oxygen in Lauren’s blood – leading to further tests that detected a congenital heart defect which required open-heart surgery immediately.

They have been actively involved in improving education and healthcare initiatives in the Orlando community for over 40 years. The family and their foundation have generously supported Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, The Howard Phillips Center for Children and Families and the Level One Trauma Center at Orlando Healath Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC).

Friday, March 30th marked National Doctors’ Day as a way for patients to say thank you to the doctors from whom they, or someone they love, have received extraordinary care and compassion. More than 140 physicians were honored through donations to Orlando Health.

  • Meet Cora

    Already loving parents to their son Rowan, Erin and Patrick were thrilled to learn they were expecting their second child – a daughter to be named Cora Catherine, affectionately called Cici. While her pregnancy progressed smoothly. Complications from her first birth led Erin and her medical team to schedule a C-section at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, which went according to plan. Cora was born and she was everything her parents could ask for.

    Joyce Sorn’s support of the community through Orlando Health began in the 1950s when she started volunteering behind the Information and Mail desk at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) when it was known as Orange General Hospital, where she was also born.
