A cancer diagnosis and treatment process are often accompanied by a tremendous amount of stress. To combat this, Orlando Health Cancer Institute offers various Integrative Medicine programs that provide healing services to compliment patients’ medical treatments – focused on their physical, emotional and social health.

The Westgate Resorts Foundation has been a tremendous partner of the Children’s Advocacy Center at The Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, a part of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, through grant funding, in-kind donations and emergency assistance for families in crisis. Since 2016, Westgate Resorts Foundation has given $90,000 in grant funding in support of the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Every year, 170 local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals identify a “Champion” in each of their local communities to serve as the face for children treated at their local children’s hospital. These ambassadors spend their year advocating for the charitable needs of children’s hospitals across North America. 

In honor of Brain Aneurysm Awareness month in September, Orlando Health patient Conor and his family held a virtual 5K event. In February of 2020, Conor suffered two brain aneurysms and a brain bleed, and had to have an emergency craniotomy at the Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) where he would remain to recover for 6-8 weeks.

Part of the Leon Pediatric Neuroscience Center of Excellence, the epilepsy program at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is designated as a Level 4 Epilepsy Center. This designation - by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) means that patients in need of the highest level of specialized care can count on Orlando Health for the most advanced technology and solutions available to care for all conditions on the epilepsy spectrum.

At the heart of Spirit Halloween is Spirit of Children, a program which provides fun and funding to its partner hospitals during the Halloween season. Since 2007, Central Florida Spirit Halloween stores have supported Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and have raised more than one million dollars to help make hospital stays less scary for kids and their families. 

As Central Florida’s only Level One Trauma Center, Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) sees an average of 79 patients per year that have been diagnosed with a spinal cord injury or disorder (SCI/D). Our team helps individuals with SCI/D progress through the rehabilitation program, from acute care through inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings. The Orlando Health ORMC Institute for Advanced Rehabilitation is the go-to program to care for these individuals, offering them education, wellness and support throughout their lives. 

The Hawkins Family Foundation/Crown Automotive Charities continues the philanthropic vision of the late Crown Automotive Group’s founder and CEO, Dwayne Hawkins. Dwayne opened the doors to his first of 22 dealerships in 1969, becoming one of the largest automotive dealerships in the southeast, with the goal to give his community a better experience.

This October, Panera Bread is celebrating 20 years of supporting the fight against breast cancer through their seasonal Pink Ribbon Bagel®. This Cherry Vanilla Bagel is flavored with select ingredients including cherry chips, dried cherries, honey, vanilla and brown sugar, and is a seasonal staple specially shaped into a ribbon in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
