Celebrating Hospitality Homes Week

The Hubbard House and Cynthia C. and William E. Perry Pavilion will celebrate Hospitality Homes Week July 19 - 25, 2017. Often for weeks at a time, both hospitality homes provide families a place to stay that is within steps of their loved ones who are receiving medical treatment at our hospitals.

The Hubbard House, located on Orlando Health’s downtown campus, hosts an average of 50 guests per night who enjoy the comforts of home, including restful accommodations and three meals per day. Guests at the house typically represent families who have loved ones undergoing long-term care at Orlando Health OrlandoRegional Medical Center (ORMC) or Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and provide a much-needed place to relax that is still convenient to where the care is taking place.

The last thing that a family with an ailing child needs is to worry about where they are going to stay during treatment. Hubbard House is somewhere for them to not only seek shelter but also to seek comfort, advice and understanding from the staff and other families in the same position. Hubbard House offers the accessibility to a home during a tragic time.

“I am able to get a good meal in comfortable surroundings with friendly staff,” said one patient’s father. “Staying here helps me to recharge so I can walk into my son’s room well rested and with a smile on my face. TheHubbard House offers a great environment for families that really need it.”

“The Hubbard House opens its arms and welcomes you in,” said Peggy Smith, Hubbard House Resident General Manager. “I like to tell people that the doctors will take care of your patient, we are here to take care of you. I live in the house so people see me all the time and they know they are not alone.”

We need your support
Because the hospitality homes offer accommodations without asking for payment in return, the homes are always in need of support. You can help families during times of crisis by making a gift in support of HospitalityHomes Week.
