Years of Giving, Years of Gratitude

For nearly half a century, The Martin Andersen-Gracia Andersen Foundation has supported Orlando Health’s mission

For nearly half a century, The Martin Andersen-Gracia Andersen Foundation has supported Orlando Health’s mission. They have given more than $2.7 million over the years, with the majority of their philanthropic support focused on the Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center during phases of significant expansion to meet the community’s growing needs.

The Andersen Foundation first became involved with Orlando Health in the 1980s as a major sponsor of numerous fundraising events hosted by Women Playing For T.I.M.E. (Technology, Immediate diagnosis, Mammography and Education) in support of our growing cancer program.

In the 1990s, their early lead gift during our capital campaign, was among a few very special donors whose understanding of our vision helped build the beautiful, state-of-the-art Lewis Pavilion, which houses the Cancer Center today.

Support Through the Years

While The Andersen Foundation has faithfully and consistently supported our mission throughout the years, following are a few additional highlights of their generosity as it relates to our organization’s historic milestones:

2003 – Pledged major support to develop the Pediatric Oncology Program at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. In 2004, their support helped bring da VinciÒ Robotic Surgery to the Cancer Center.

2005 – Helped open the Breast Care Center – one of the first of its kind to include a dedicated, multidisciplinary team providing a full continuum of care, all in one location.

2018 – Donated $50,000 to name the Family Lounge located in the Circle of Friends Alzheimer’s and dementia special care unit at the Orlando Health Center for Rehabilitation in Ocoee.

2018 – Gave $30,000 to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer.

2018 – Supported the expansion of the Level One Trauma Center at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center with $35,000.

The faithful partnership of the Martin Andersen-Gracia Andersen Foundation has not only helped pave the way in bringing a world-class Cancer Center to Orlando but has laid the foundation for a future that is bright with promising discoveries, hope and healing.
