We recently sat down with Anjali Vyas, MD, senior vice president, Orlando Health, and the new president of Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, to learn more about her background, her vision for the hospital, the broader Orlando Health Women’s Institute, which provides care for the unique healthcare needs of women with a focus on reproductive and breast health, and the vital role philanthropy plays in caring for women and babies in Central Florida.
On April 3, the Orlando Health Foundation hosted a “Topping Out” ceremony for the Orlando Health Children’s Pavilion. Lead campaign contributors and physicians were invited to witness the final steel beam being lifted and proudly secured at the top of the building.
Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream once again brought joy and generosity to the community through the Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast campaign supporting the Haley Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. During the month of February, Kelly’s employees at Central Florida “scoop shops” encouraged customers to donate at the register. Then, on International Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day (February 18), 50% of sales were also donated to the Haley Center.
From February 1–14, Panera Bread locations across Central Florida donated 100% of the proceeds from Heart Cookie sales to support children receiving cardiac care. On Valentine’s Day, our partners at Panera Bread brought Heart Cookies for young patients to decorate at the annual Heart Party. We are grateful to Panera Bread for their continued support and commitment to making a difference for patients like Cora.
