For these teams, fundraising for Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is a part of their culture and creates an inspiring atmosphere each day of the month. Each warehouse is unique in its fundraising, not only asking members to donate at the register, but also hosting potlucks, dress-up days, dance parties and so much more.

As a child, Mary witnessed her mother’s challenging battle with breast cancer at only 46 years old.  Fast forward 65 years, and Mary received her own diagnosis of invasive lobular carcinoma breast cancer and knew she had to act quickly. Determined to find the best care, she explored various recommendations and ultimately chose Orlando Health. Her decision was reinforced by her confidence in her surgical physician, Michael Kahky, MD. It was not only his impressive credentials, but his kindness, attentive listening and sense of humor that put Mary at ease.

Recently, through a $2 million pledge to the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute, Orlando Health completed renovations to the Orlando Health ORMC floor 7B Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Unit. Renovations will be completed this spring for floor 5B Cardiac Intervention Unit - both of which cater to recovering cardiac patients.

On May 25, Dunkin’ restaurants across our community celebrated Iced Coffee Day in an extra special way. Through the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, for every iced coffee sold on this day, $1 was donated to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. In total, local Dunkin’ restaurants raised $30,000 for the kids and families served at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer.

When Diana was 20 weeks pregnant with her first child, Alessandra, an anatomy scan brought unexpected news: her unborn baby had a heart condition. The revelation was terrifying for Diana and her husband, Luis, who were referred to Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies for specialized care.

When he arrived at Orlando Health twenty years ago, Rafael R. Mañon, MD, never set his sights on running a cancer program.
