Physicians Show Dedication Beyond the Hospital Walls

Dr. Rebecca Moroose and Dr. Tom Winters continue their support of Orlando Health with a major gift to UF Health Cancer Center - Orlando Health

It’s no secret that Orlando Health has some of the most dedicated physicians around. But did you know that several of our physicians’ dedication goes beyond the operating room and the doctor’s office?

Dr. Rebecca Moroose and her husband Dr. Tom Winters are two of those physicians who have extended their care for Orlando Health and the patients we serve beyond the clinical aspect.

In the past, Dr. Moroose, a hematologist/ oncologist at UF Health Cancer Center – Orlando Health and Dr. Winters, an orthopedic surgeon, have supported the Level One Trauma Center at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC).

This connection to ORMC is not only due to the fact that they practice at Orlando Health, but also because their son Nate was a trauma patient. After a tragic boating accident on Lake Maitland in 2008, Nate lost a tremendous amount of blood. He nearly died, but thanks to the team at the Trauma Center, his life was saved.

This year, Dr. Moroose and Dr. Winters made the decision to support the exciting work and needs of UF Health Cancer Center – Orlando Health. They also committed to a multi-year pledge.

While being incredibly skilled physicians in their fields, both Dr. Moroose and Dr. Winters have demonstrated the importance of investing in the future of Orlando Health and the patients we serve.

We are grateful for Dr. Moroose and Dr. Winters’ support and friendship over the years as they continue to not only serve our patients through the work they do each day, but also in their philanthropic support of Orlando Health.
