Philanthropy Propels Access to Womens Health Services in Pinellas County

The Hawkins Family Foundation/Crown Automotive Charities’ pledge to support the Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital Women’s Pavilion with a $250,000 gift is set to make a significant impact on women needing access to healthcare services in the St. Petersburg community and beyond.

The Hawkins Family Foundation/Crown Automotive Charities continues the philanthropic vision of the late Crown Automotive Group’s founder and CEO, Dwayne Hawkins. Dwayne opened the doors to his first of 22 dealerships in 1969, becoming one of the largest automotive dealerships in the southeast, with the goal to give his community a better experience.

Dwayne Hawkins

“When you treat folks right; they’ll remember what you did for them and keep coming back to you,” a sentiment by Dwayne that proves true for both the automotive and healthcare industries. His business philosophy was simple, proclaiming: “Don’t just be in the business of taking their money and not giving back.”

Just as their former patriarch instilled in his children, the Hawkins Family have supported Bayfront Hospital since the early 2000s, and their commitment to excellent healthcare continues to shine with their latest pledge.
