Orlando Sentinel Family Fund awards $50,000 grant to The Healing Tree
The Orlando Sentinel Family Fund recently awarded The Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, a part of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hosptial for Children, with a $50,000 grant to support The Healing Tree.
The Healing Tree
The Healing Tree is a special place in Central Florida with a team of highly-trained, compassionate counselors who help children and their families through the process of healing from recent or past trauma. The Healing Tree offers confidential counseling in the form of individual, family and group therapy for children ages 3 through 17 years who have experienced physical or sexual abuse. Using evidence-based treatment methods, The Healing Tree also offers counseling to family members and caregivers.

From the moment one enters the colorful, inviting children’s waiting area, The Healing Tree environment is designed to ensure feelings of safety. Each child and family member is treated with sensitivity, dignity and respect, and our highly-trained staff upholds strict standards of confidentiality.
If you suspect your child or a child you know has been abused, help is just a phone call away. Always call law enforcement or 1.800.96.ABUSE (1.800.962.2873) to report suspected cases of child abuse. To initiate counseling for recent or past abuse, call The Healing Tree at 407-317-7430 ext. 2160. A staff member will arrange an initial session with a counselor. The Healing Tree staff will provide guidance to those clients who have not reported their assault or abuse to the police.
