Kohl’s Dedicates Nearly $200,000 to Arnold Palmer Hospital’s Sports Medicine Program

What do Kohl’s and 60 ballerinas have in common? Surprisingly, more than you realize.

Steadily growing since 2007, a partnership between Kohl’s and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has benefited thousands of young, Central Florida athletes.  The Kohl’s Play It Forward program sends Arnold Palmer Hospital sports medicine physicians and athletic trainers into the community to instruct coaches, parents and children on safety techniques and how to decrease the risk of and treat minor injuries.

Sports injury prevention workshops presented by Arnold Palmer Hospital, take place routinely throughout the year. Recently, our team’s sports medicine professionals provided a free workshop to approximately 60 new dancers and their families at the Orlando Ballet Training School. Although classes are designed to engage athletes and make learning fun, important conditioning and techniques to prevent sports injuries are covered in detail.

These workshops are made possible through the partnership with Kohl’s and Arnold Palmer Hospital’s Play It Forward program. Kohl’s has provided more than $2.1 million dollars in funding over the last 10 years.  Most recently, Kohl’s presented Arnold Palmer Hospital with $198,753!

Kohl's commitment is made possible through the Kohl's Cares cause merchandise program.  Through this initiative, Kohl’s sells $5 books and toys, where 100 percent of net profit benefits children’s initiatives nationwide, including hospital partnerships like this one.  Kohl's has raised nearly $300 million through this merchandise program.
