Dr. Phillips Charities is committing $1 million, in partnership with Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation, to help improve the health and well-being of families in Central Florida over the next four years.

“Arnold Palmer has an unquestionably great legacy of caring very similar to that of Dr. P. Phillips and our late board chairman Jim Hinson,” said Kenneth D. Robinson, president of Dr. Phillips Charities. “We’re excited to partner with Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation to continue to develop programs and initiatives that will make a difference in the lives of families throughout our community for many years to come.”

The gift from Dr. Phillips Charities will support programs at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies and other causes impacting Central Florida families. It represents an enduring partnership built over many years of support through the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard® and the Eagles for Arnie’s Kids Challenge. To date Dr. Phillips has donated more than $630,000 to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital through the Eagles program and this new commitment will continue to expand that support.

“My parents were always passionate about supporting initiatives that gave opportunity to positively impact the lives of children, and their families. It was done with a personal commitment which also inspired their investment in the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital,” said Amy Saunders, daughter of Arnold Palmer and president of Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation. “Our family is very proud to have a long-standing partner like Dr. Phillips Charities who share a commitment to the lives of the children and families in this community.”

Orlando Health president and chief executive officer David Strong said of the commitment from Dr. Phillips Charities: “To truly make a difference in communities, you need partners with the vision it takes to create something that has a positive, lasting impact for many years. Mr. Palmer and Dr. Phillips Charities are shining examples of that. We’re honored to have them as partners in improving the lives of children and families.”
