Coca Cola Beverages Florida Aids in the Mission of Real-Life Superhero Myles

When 10-year-old Myles, a patient of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children since birth, heard that Coca-Cola® launched limited-edition packaging for Coca-Cola x Marvel: The Heroes — a release of Marvel-themed cans and bottles – he knew just which character he had to get a hold of: Iron Man.

And so, the mission began…

His parents searched everywhere to find a can with Myles’ favorite superhero but soon discovered they were randomly placed amongst various packs of Coca-Cola products, making it a challenge to find the elusive Iron Man design. When Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC (Coke Florida) heard about Myles’ mission, they were excited to act as his superhero “sidekicks.” The local Coke Florida team made it their mission to find the Iron Man cans for a special delivery.

For Myles, Iron Man reflects the real-life superhero he is. Myles currently has a surgically-implanted Vagal Nerve Stimulator (VNS) which operates as a type of pacemaker for his brain. “When Myles got his VNS device five years ago to control his seizures, he felt a little different. His dad told him he was just like a superhero with another device, Iron Man, so we called Myles ‘the real Iron Man,’” says mom, Katie.

To no one’s surprise, Myles was ecstatic to receive the Iron Man can; the giant smile on his face said it all. His parents and the Orlando Health Foundation team are exceedingly
grateful to the Coke Florida team for helping Myles complete his mission by sending an incredible can of happiness to our real-life superhero.

“Coke Florida is always excited at the chance to impact the lives of those in the community,” said Jennifer Newman, Plant Manager - Orlando for Coke Florida. “As the local Coca-Cola bottler with a longstanding partnership with Orlando Health Foundation, we enjoy opportunities to provide direct support to patient families like Myles. The teams at our local manufacturing plant and distribution center were eager to assemble and locate the Iron Man packaging to help Myles build out his Coca-Cola x Marvel collection.”
