During this year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard®, Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation was formally introduced to the world of golf. Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation has been entrusted to continue Arnold Palmer’s legacy of selflessly giving back by investing in the well-being of children and youth.

“This tournament is an important part of Arnold’s legacy, and collectively we were inspired to work together to further advance it stature. We are delighted to announce these changes … and further celebrate the tremendous contributions Arnold has made on and off the golf course,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem.

It all began in the 1960’s when Arnold Palmer’s go for broke style of golf bolstered a legion of fans, coined by the press as Arnie’s Army, who lovingly bestowed the title of “The King” upon him not only because of his prowess on the course, but more importantly because of his unfailing sense of kindness and thoughtfulness.

Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation will invest in the well-being and development of children & youth, supporting health & wellness initiatives and strengthening communities and the environment and will continue to provide significant support to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. Beginning in 2017, Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation will manage oversight of the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard as the host organization.
