Unveiling the Newly Renovated Emergency Department

Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) is celebrating the completion of its Emergency Department renovation, a transformative project that elevates emergency care for the Central Florida community.

The modernized facility, now fully operational, offers increased capacity, improved patient flow, advanced technology, and a more comfortable environment for patients and families during critical times.

This vital upgrade to the region's only Level One Trauma Center, completed last year, was made possible thanks to the extraordinary generosity of dedicated community philanthropists.

“The completion of our newly renovated Emergency Department marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing exceptional, life-saving care to Central Florida,” said Kelly Nierstedt, senior vice president, Orlando Region and president, Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center. “This state-of-the-art facility allows our incredible team to work more efficiently and effectively, ensuring patients receive the highest level of care when they need it most. On behalf of all of the staff who work in emergency and trauma, we are immensely grateful to donors for their belief in our work and their transformative gifts.”

A core part of this reconstruction was to ensure patient safety while providing the best possible care for patients. The project enhancements have already played a key role in reducing wait times, improving patient privacy and streamlining the process from arrival to treatment.
