From February 1–14, stop by a participating Central Florida Panera Bread^Ò location to purchase a Heart Cookie and help support young heart patients in our community. One hundred percent of the proceeds from these freshly baked, heart-shaped shortbread cookies will benefit The Heart Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, helping kids like Tristan receive lifesaving care. Meet Tristan

When Brianna and Yoshy welcomed twin boys, Tristan and Trent, they quickly learned their journey would be anything but ordinary. During pregnancy, doctors discovered Tristan had a serious congenital heart defect, and at just three weeks old, he underwent open-heart surgery at The Heart Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. After a brief season of hope at home with his brothers—Trent and big brother Landon—Tristan faced another life-threatening complication that required a second emergency open-heart surgery at only seven months old.

Today, Tristan continues to defy every expectation. Though he will need future surgeries as he grows, he is walking, talking and playing right alongside his siblings. Once warned he might struggle developmentally, Tristan now shines with energy, mischief and determination. “He’s a fighter,” his mom Brianna says. “You wouldn’t know anything was wrong unless you saw his scar or heard his story. Tristan is our miracle.
