For Rich and Betty Randa, generosity is rooted in gratitude and their commitment to children and families facing complex medical journeys.

Charlotte’s Journey

Charlotte, the Randas’ firstborn granddaughter, was born at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, like her older brother, Graham.

At eight months old, she was admitted to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children for a respiratory condition and a month later was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease, requiring her to see multiple specialists.

Over the next four years, before Charlotte ultimately passed away, she and her family were surrounded by a team of doctors, nurses, specialists and child life team who cared for them with skill and compassion.

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer was there with us for our entire journey. From the moment our world changed, to the very end when we were the most broken. That is something we will eternally be grateful for.

Honoring Charlotte’s Legacy

In remembrance of their granddaughter, Rich and Betty made the decision to honor Charlotte’s legacy by including Orlando Health Arnold Palmer in their estate plans.

A Legacy Gift for Future Families

“Our hope is that our legacy gift will honor our precious Charlotte by blessing other children and their families,” says Betty.

Although the Randas’ legacy gift would make a difference for future generations beyond their lifetime, they felt called to make an immediate impact.

After discovering how the Orlando Health Children’s Pavilion will transform care for families and children like Charlotte — especially those who need to visit multiple specialists — they have since generously supported the project.

Transforming Pediatric Care The Orlando Health Children’s Pavilion will help bring coordinated, specialized care together for children and families navigating complex medical journeys.

We encourage our community to join us by sharing their time, talents and financial gifts. All our precious children should receive the healthcare they need, require and deserve.
