Recognizing National Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This month and throughout the year, The Howard Phillips Center encourages all individuals and organizations to play a role in making Central Florida a better place for children and families.

The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) at The Howard Phillips Center offers a child-friendly facility where professionals such as doctors, nurses, forensic interviewers, detectives, child advocates, therapists and child abuse investigators assemble to make joint decisions regarding the assessment, advocacy and treatment of child abuse cases. And, the Healing Tree (part of the CAC) is the leading mental health treatment program for victims of child abuse in Central Florida, providing individual, group and family therapy sessions for children and their non-offending caregivers.

Now, more than ever, philanthropy is a key component to The Howard Phillips Center’s ability to provide services in our community. To give to The Howard Phillips Center, please visit Give.OrlandoHealth.com/HPC.
