Mears Family Pledges Leadership Gift to Arnold Palmer Hospital

Having focused their philanthropy on the well-being of children for years, Deb and Paul Mears, Jr. include Arnold Palmer Hospital among their charities of choice.

The lobby of the Bert Martin’s Champions for Children Emergency Department and Trauma Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is getting a new name in recognition of the generosity of a well-known Orlando family.

The renaming of the space comes after Paul and his wife, Deb, made a significant donation to the hospital to be designated for the area of greatest need. “The health and well-being of children in our community is important to us,” explains Paul Mears, Jr. “It has been a long- time priority in our family to be involved with organizations that are making a difference in children’s lives, and we are happy to be in a position to do it.”

John Bozard, says “we couldn’t do what we do for the children of our community without the incredible generosity of caring friends such as Paul and Deb Mears. We are profoundly grateful for their partnership and look forward to a continued friendship.”

The Mears family gathered with friends, hospital administrators and leadership in the atrium of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children to celebrate the announcement of their gift and observe new signage in the lobby of the emergency department and trauma center.
