Dunkin' Shines Gold for Childhood Cancer July 19 - August 5

This summer, bring joy to kids battling cancer with your local Dunkin’! From July 19 – August 5, when you donate $2 to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, you’ll receive a free Shine Gold Donut as a thank you. Your donation will support kids like McKenzie treated at The Haley Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

McKenzie was born at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies after 24-weeks of gestation and weighing just 1 lb. 2 oz., spending her first 97 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Shortly after, McKenzie’s Gastroenterologist felt a tumor in her liver and sent her to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children to have a biopsy. She was diagnosed with a very rare form of liver cancer. McKenzie has had surgery to remove her gallbladder and 80 percent of her liver, but still had to undergo chemotherapy treatment under the care of the doctors at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer.

Today, McKenzie’s fight continues, but thanks to the care of the doctors and nurses at Orlando Health, she is playing competitive soccer and gymnastics, adores unicorns and owls, and enjoys spending time with her best friend and sister, Zoey.
